Answers
- C — The subject was animal control, or more specifically bylaw amendments that allow municipal animal control to euthanize loose dogs 24 hours after they’re caught. The comment being investigated as a possible threat was made on Facebook, in reply to a post critical of council’s decision.
- C — The Kuujjuaq-Montreal route is not part of the sale, and last week Makivvik Corp. and Inuvialuit Regional Corp. announced Air Inuit will take over that route starting Aug. 6.
- C — The call centre is in Saint-Eustache, a suburb of Montreal. The goal is to eventually have it serve all of Nunavik’s 14 communities.
- A — It’s a new harbour, which is in the approvals stage still but most locals hope will come to fruition by 2029. Mayor Meeka Kiguktak called the harbour “long-awaited and much-needed” in a letter to the Nunavut Impact Review Board.
- B — The so-called Golden Dome is an idea Trump has floated, based on Israel’s Iron Dome system which has been effective in defending that country recently against missiles launched from Iran.
