Answers:

1. C — The vans are not on the road yet, Nunavut Premier John Main told Nunatsiaq News. The territorial government allocated $1.25 million last year towards their operation. They are now developing a policy and a call for proposals to run the vans.

2. A — The Kinngait Youth Group served 200 residents for a Valentine’s Day breakfast this year.

3. B — Quebec’s Ungava MNA Sonia Caron declined to comment when asked about how her party’s separatism ambitions could affect her Inuit constituents. For now anyway, the separatism question has been shelved, at least as long as U.S. President Donald Trump is in power.

4. B — The nomination period for the Kivalliq Inuit Association’s elections open Oct. 26. Voting day is scheduled for Dec. 14.

5. C — A videographer was assaulted while working on promotional materials for a hamlet-sponsored environment initiative, according to Gjoa Haven Mayor Raymond Quqshuun Sr. No report was made to police, but the hamlet is taking the incident seriously, he said.
