Covid is stuck in Nunavik, not due to bad weather, or vaccinations either. Covid in Nunavik has mutated into its own Nunavik variant, so to speak. Numbers, yes numbers, cases that is with variables only unique to the regions behaviours. Every time a case is announced as by testing , there’s four or more times actually infected, not tested or announced. Maybe, not even aware. I say four times as a probable number to stress my point. We know it’s at least double, but I’ll bet the four fold anytime. There’s no progression of any success in Nunavik. We’ll be in this far longer than our neighbours in all directions on the map. The low vaccination rate is leading the cause, second runner up and assistant to the winner is ignorant, gullible, fake news, stubborn people. Third place goes to coop members that keep the live show going nightly with partying and throw out your mask. You know that Covid is here to stay anyway, but in Nunavik it’s here to stay with all its spikes intact as new as ever with long term Nunavik’s own variant, behavioural issues. Wake up Nunavik, and be part of the solution.

Do we understand why the immunization rate is so low? were people afraid because they were among the first to be immunized? Was it a capacity issue for the delivery? It is important to learn why to be able to better protect people in the future. I agree that the virus is with us, but immunizing has been well proven to reduce the serious illness and given the remoteness of the villages, that is so important. Spring is coming, people need to be well to get out and hunt.
