A teenager from Puvirnituq has been charged with attempted murder and assault after he allegedly stabbed two people in the Nunavik community last month.
Johnny Nappatuk, 19, was arrested early on June 27 after the police responded to a violent altercation in the Hudson coast community. That’s where officers found a 22-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back nine times, along with a 43-year-old woman who had been stabbed twice.
Eliyassie Aupaluk and Mary Nappatuk were treated at the local hospital for serious injuries.
Nappatuk made a court appearance on June 29, where he was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence.
The prosecutor’s office said there is no date scheduled for Nappatuk’s next court appearance.
