The recipients are Brady Tucktoo, an apprenticing plumber at Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd., and Bailey Green, a graduate of the culinary arts program at Holland College in Prince Edward Island.
Tucktoo completed his training at Nunavut Arctic College’s trades training centre. He plans to continue his apprenticeship studies at Northwestern Polytechnic in Alberta and eventually establish his own plumbing company, the release said.
Green recently completed the culinary arts program at Holland College and is studying pastry arts at the college’s Culinary Institute of Canada. Her goal is to open a business in Nunavut that celebrates Inuit culture and uses local ingredients.
The scholarship was created in memory of Noah Paniyuk, a Qulliq Energy Corp. electrician from Rankin Inlet who died in July 2024 while working on generator repairs in Naujaat.
The scholarship recognizes leadership and is intended to encourage Nunavut students pursuing skilled trades training.

I wonder how a pastry chef will use local ingredients in Nunavut?
caribou stew pies
blueberry tarts
arctic char hot pockets
congrats to the scholarship winners and best wishes to them on their future careers !
it sounds delicious!
