A Sanikiluaq woman who told us about beluga jerky, an Arviat woman who paid tribute to Nunavut’s wildlife and a man in Taloyoak who was moved by the friendliness of the hamlet’s youth are winners of this year’s My Corner of Our Land contest.

Eileena Arragutainaq, Jenny Wasylkoski and Roger Clowater had their names drawn from a hat in a draw held Thursday at Nunatsiaq News’ office in Iqaluit.

For winning the draw, each of them will receive a $500 gift card.

It was the second year Nunatsiaq News ran its My Corner of Our Land writing contest in the week leading up to Nunavut Day.

A list of all the submissions was published on Nunavut Day.

A list of the submissions from 2022 can be found here.
