Sakku, GN make it official over long-term care
Sakku Investments Corp. president and CEO David Kakuktinniq, left, and Nunavut Health Minister John Main pose Wednesday after signing a 10-year, $150-million contract for Sakku to operate the new Kivalliq Long Term Care Centre in Rankin Inlet. The 24-bed facility will provide Inuit elders care at home, including dementia care, according to Inuit cultural practices, according to a news release from the Government of Nunavut. The GN has not provided an opening date but says construction is expected to finish by the end of summer followed by a three-month period to prepare for operations to begin.
