A 31-year-old man faces drug-related charges after RCMP carried out a search warrant at a residence in the 2200 block of Iqaluit on Sept. 8.

Officers seized 185 grams of cocaine, a knife, air pistol, ammunition, an undisclosed amount of money, a currency-counting machine and electronic devices, according to an RCMP news release issued Tuesday.

The suspect is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. He was released to appear in court in Iqaluit on Oct. 12.

The RCMP major crime unit, federal Arctic unit, containment team, and forensic identification and general duty officers took part in the search, according to the news release.

Wow, a few busts happening which is good! . Keep it up, we don’t need losers harming our communities anymore, no more. Alcohol historically has done a lot of damage to people/kids/elders, can’t imagine what hard drugs will do. No more!

I noticed the names in Pangnirtung got published by this paper and then they hide the Iqaluit criminals even though the RCMP publishes them. Why are you protecting Iqaluit only criminals Nutsy News? We need to know these drug peddlers and if they are breaching their conditions and we witness them, we need to report them for our community’s protection too!

Looks like they got the information from the RCMP news release but did not publish names.

Nunatsiaq news shame on you for picking and choosing which names you decide to publish even though it is given……Discriminatory practice.

I think a couple was stopped by the police close to the Quick Stop at Apex on the same day or Saturday morning. It looked like a drug bust.

Shout out to the Police catching these dealers!!
