A 36-year-old Inuk woman reported missing in Ottawa on Feb. 14 has been found.

Susan Tagak, who is originally from Iqaluit, was located around noon on Tuesday, according to her father.

“As of about a half hour ago, I have been in touch with Susan. She is safe and in good spirits. We have made arrangements to meet tomorrow,” John Tagak said in a text message.

Susan Tagak was last seen Feb. 5 in downtown Ottawa, police said.

Her father and others made appeals on social media for information on her whereabouts.

On Monday, he said, he had been reaching out to Ottawa’s large Inuit community for help.

Ottawa police also confirmed Tagak had been found.

Tagak’s father thanked the public and Nunatsiaq News for helping to publicize details about his missing daughter.

“It helped getting the message out there. Thank you so much.”
