Photo: Early morning Nunavut house fire puts school into “secure” mode

A Clyde River School went into “hold and secure” mode due to a nearby commotion Friday morning, according to a June 12 RCMP news release. When police arrived, they discovered the commotion had turned into a house fire. Those inside the home escaped unharmed, police reported and, “the incident is believed to be alcohol-related. Clyde River firefighters were also at the scene, having arrived prior to the police. Two adults have been arrested for public intoxication, the news release said, and the Fire Marshal’s office is now investigating. (PHOTO BY NIORE IQALUKJUAK)
