Photo: Kuujjuaq recognizes Quebec suicide prevention week

Kuujjuamiut mark Quebec’s Suicide Prevention Week at Katittavik Town Hall Feb. 8 by lighting candles in memory of those they have lost. Earlier that afternoon they held a walk through Kuujjuaq that started at Jaanimmarik School at 1:30 p.m. to raise awareness about suicide prevention. At the town hall, free hugs were distributed, and local singer Etua Snowball sang in Inuktitut. Other activities took place all week at Jaanimmarik School.
