The Government of Nunavut is upgrading internet service in all its schools and Nunavut Arctic College community learning centres this year, education minister Paul Quassa told his colleagues at the legislative assembly March 2. Work began in December to upgrade equipment, install new software and re-align satellite antennas with the goal of having the new service in place by the summer of 2016, Quassa said. The new service is delivered though Galaxy Broadband Communications which will install and maintain the infrastructure over four years at a cost of $3.25 million. (PHOTO BY SARAH ROGERS)
