Inuk photographer’s work ‘Sedna | ᓴᓐᓇ’ on display at Ottawa city hall
Faisal Adeel. from Ottawa’s Centretown area, admires the photography of Katherine Takpannie displayed at Ottawa’s City Hall Art Gallery. Titled ‘Sedna | ᓴᓐᓇ: On Thin Ice #2,’ it’s part of the ‘2024 Additions to the City of Ottawa Art Collection’ that will remain on display until Feb. 23. Takpannie, whose family originates from Apex Hill, refers to the Inuit goddess of the sea and marine animals. Though unfamiliar with Inuit creation stories, Adeel said he thought the image was a painting at first. (Photo by Nehaa Bimal)
