The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s help in finding Susan Kuplu-Irqittuq, an Inuk woman who has been missing now for a week.

Kuplu-Irqittuq’s friends said the 37-year-old woman was last seen on Friday, Jan. 11, getting on a bus to attend an appointment in Ottawa.

Police were initially looking for both Kuplu-Irqittuq and her daughter Lennese Kublu, who went missing at the same time, but Kublu was located a few days later in the Toronto area.

Kuplu-Irqittuq, originally from Igloolik, is about 4 foot, 11 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds and has long black hair and brown eyes. She is known to frequent Ottawa’s downtown and Byward market area.

“Her family is concerned for her safety,” Ottawa police said in a news release this week.

Anyone who has information on Kuplu-Irqittuq’s whereabouts should call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222.

The public can also report information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
