May finished 21st in that event, according to the Games website, with a jump of 7.633 metres. The winner was Leif Richards, of Alaska, who jumped 9.779 metres. Other competitors from Nunavik were Steven Aupaluk, 9.087 metres, sixth place; Gabriel Kulula, 6.776 metres, 27th place; Aqigi Kulula, 4.521 metres, 29th; and Paul Kulula Jr., 4.807 metres, 30th place. Some Nunavut MLAs wore pink shirts and other accessories in the legislative assembly Wednesday as part of a national anti-bullying initiative. Across Canada, Feb. 28 is Pink Shirt Day, when schools and other organizations raise awareness and call for an end to bullying. In her statement to colleagues Wednesday morning, Education Minister Pamela Gross said the Government of Nunavut is developing a new anti-bullying handbook to provide to schools for the next school year.
