Iqaluit firefighters raise more than $2,000 for cancer research

Between 200 and 300 people participated in Walk for the Cure, city says

Iqaluit firefighters raised more than $2,200 for cancer research on Monday through their Walk for the Cure. The City of Iqaluit called the event a “resounding success” Wednesday in an announcement.

Iqaluit firefighters douse vehicle fire

Firefighters hose down an SUV that caught fire near the Northwestel building in Iqaluit on Wednesday evening. According to city spokesperson Kent Driscoll, the fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. and firefighters declared it to be under control by 8:27 p.m. No one was injured and the RCMP is investigating the fire, he said.
