It was a mostly one-sided affair Nov. 25 as the RCMP hockey team, in the red uniforms, defeated Iqaluit’s firefighters 7-3 in the Guns and Hoses charity hockey game. Close to 100 people attended the first responders’ matchup at the Arnaitok Arena to watch the RCMP win for the second straight year. The game was a fundraiser for both the Iqaluit firefighters’ Movember men’s health campaign and for Iqaluit’s food bank. In total, $2,170 was raised, according to fire Chief Steve McGean.
