Two people are in the running to become Pangnirtung’s next mayor. The hamlet’s search for a new leader started in December, when former mayor Lynn Mike resigned.
Canadian rock band Trooper performs in Cambridge Bay as part of the Kitikmeot Trade Show. The group behind the 1978 hit “Raise a Little Hell” played two shows in the community, on Feb. 20 and 21. The Nunavut hamlet is the northernmost place Trooper has ever played, said a post from the group on Facebook. “Being invited into this culture that sits as the crown on top of our country is an honour we never take lightly. Community members marked the day with a feast of country food, performances, games and activities.
