Whooping cough outbreak in Kivalliq region declared over

No new cases detected in past 5 weeks, Health Department says

A whooping cough outbreak declared more than five months ago in the Kivalliq region has ended. The Department of Health declared the outbreak March 8, with active cases detected in Arviat and Rankin Inlet.

Greenhouse program helps grow young gardeners

Alec Nichol, 9, gets his green thumb on with help from Nancy Fynn-Sackey during the Iqaluit Community Greenhouse Society’s regular youth program.
