The top judge on the Nunavut Court of Justice — who was also the first lawyer to ever be called to the Nunavut Bar — is retiring after a decades-long career in the territory.
Some Nunavut MLAs wore pink shirts and other accessories in the legislative assembly Wednesday as part of a national anti-bullying initiative. Across Canada, Feb. 28 is Pink Shirt Day, when schools and other organizations raise awareness and call for an end to bullying. In her statement to colleagues Wednesday morning, Education Minister Pamela Gross said the Government of Nunavut is developing a new anti-bullying handbook to provide to schools for the next school year.
