Pope Francis will hold one public event when he visits Iqaluit on July 29, according to a schedule released by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops on Tuesday. The public will be able to see the Pope at 5 p.m.
Dozens of people in Cambridge Bay gather on the evening on July 15 to pay tribute to 11-year-old Laura Kupeuna, who drowned earlier that week. Nunavut Commissioner Eva Qamaniq Aariak dedicates a garden to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II on July 9. The jubilee marks the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession and makes her the first British monarch to spend 70 years in service.
