The federal government named Mohawk lawyer Kimberly Murray its special interlocutor to work with Indigenous communities on the protection of unmarked graves and burial sites near former residential schools.
Former judge, senator honoured for work on national Truth and Reconciliation Commission
Murray Sinclair was named a Companion of the Order of Canada by Gov. Gen. Mary Simon, at a ceremony in Ottawa on Thursday. Sinclair, a former judge and senator, was honoured for his work as chair of the national Truth and Reconciliation Commission and his life of advocacy for Indigenous people.
